Hi!

I am taking my granddaughter on the Polar Express ... the actual train used in the movie is all decked out for Christmas. We will go on a train ride and end up in a village made to look like the North Pole ....I have never been before but know people who have. They said it was wonderful! Back to my problem  I would love to find a set, or at least a large train, in the "theme" of the Polar Express artwork. It is very dark with very little color. The train would be the most important piece ... a streamlined train and not a child's toy train. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks!!
Robin

Have you checked out Brandy Murry's Planes, Trains and Automobile's Collection. I know one of her papers shows a real train on the paper. No train embellishment but you can make one of your own from the photos you take when you go on this trip. I'm sure you will be allowed to take photos of the Train outside and inside :)

I know what you mean! We are doing a Polar Express this year with our five boys, but I hadn't even started looking at collections yet. We did it a couple of years ago when our oldest two were little, but the younger three have never been. We are really looking forward to it.

Hmmmm..... I will have to see what I can find.
Happy Scrapping,

We watch the Polar Express every day from Halloween to New Years. This year we are going to ride the Polar Express Train also. Let's see what I can find for us. (Future planning for me too.)

Vaughnde already mentioned Brandy's wonderful collection. Here is another
Trains and Tracks by Caroline Kaiser
Trains and Tracks Brush Set

These aren't trained them, but might help set the atmosphere you could combine with the trains from the other collections.

I love the polar express train!!! We were in williams, AZ where they had that train, so cool. I'm doing some of our train LOs with Brandy's Planes, Trains and automobiles. I love the suggestions Sara gave you too. I'll bet you'll be able to scan emblems and such from souveniers to use too.

Thanks for the great suggestions!! My creative "wheels" are rolling now ... if you/I find anything else I will post it here. Probably the best embellishment of all will be the look on my Emma's face!!! Now I'm getting excited ..... :yippee: :yippee:

Vaughnde, It's in The Dalles. We are driving up and meeting G&G at the Portland Airport then heading over to The Dalles and staying there that night.

I'd like to think that I was channeling Polar Express in my layout Christmastime:)(without the train, lol!) Yes? I used mostly Brandy Murry's Holidays In Lights Collection and all the new coordinating Holiday In Lights SS Paper, SS Emb and Styles.

I too, immediately thought of Holiday in Lights. Maybe no trains, but the mood is so "Polar Express." With some ticket stubs and a few more specific embellishments, it would be ideal.

Holiday in Lights Styles would be great to use too!

Christmas Chronicles Paper Biggie has a great Santa paper that would work.

ScrapSimple Paper Templates: Charm Of Christmas and its coordinating Brush Set: Charm Of Christmas have old fashion Santa's too.
