Life Moments Chat And Crop - Tues. Feb. 9 @ 4Pm Mt

Please join, Sherry_Lynn Tues. Feb. 9th @ 4 PM MT for the next installment of our Life Moments Chat and Crop!

These crops are about building a scrapbook all about you, one layout at a time.

With all the snow being dumped around the country --- I thought it might be appropriate to have a weather related topic (just NOT snow --- LOL just kidding, snow photos are beautiful) you choose whatever weather topic you like --- after all this is "YOUR" Life Moments layout.

Sometimes at this time of year, the weather can get us down. Rainy and cold aren't great, but each has their blessings, the rain waters the plants and the cold kills off the germs. Sometimes the weather can give us unexpected surprises like rainbows. Today's challenge is to find something about the weather that makes you smile and scrap it.

You are welcome to post a layout even if you cannot attend the chat. Please post your layouts in the Life Moments gallery

Here is mine Rainy Days!

Can't wait to see what you come up with AND I'm looking forward to seeing you at the chat!

Share The Love Game...

We all love to read how much people love our layouts; however, I speaking for myself have to admit I am really bad at leaving it, so I wanted to create this game. Here is how it works...

1) Find a layout in the gallery that needs love (meaning no comments made)

2) post the layout on this thread and lets share the love

3) Once you post your love let us know on this thread

4) Once the layout gets (10) comments it is your choice to post a layout from the gallery of your choice. It could be yours, or it could be one that you really like of someone elses that you think should get recognition.

Sound easy enough? Lets have fun now leaving love.

Here is the first layout to post (10) comments to:

I have picked this one because it has been viewed 7 times and not a single comment when it should...

Epson Icc Printer Profiles

I recently installed an Epson 1400 and the Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 software that came with the printer.

I'm posting this for anyone who is having the same problem I had because I've spent 3 days getting this issue resolved and hopefully this post will eliminate tears and temper tantrums for someone else!

The Guide that comes with the Epson 1400 lists the specific profiles for each type of Epson paper. From all I've read, it's best to use specific ICC profiles with whatever paper you're using. Many of the paper manufacturers have profiles you can download from their sites. I also found a site that will create a profile, for a fee, if you send them an example of the paper you want profiled.

My problem was that when I selected Print from the Elements Editor, the portion of the Elements print screen titled "Printer Profile" in the "Color Management" section of the screen did not show the specific Epson paper profiles which are:

Premium Presentation Paper Matte - SP1400 1410 MPHW
Premium Photo Paper Glossy - SP1400 1410 PGPP
Photo Paper Glossy - SP1400 1410 PGPS
Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster - SP1400 1410 PLPP
Presentation Paper Matte - SP1400 1410 PQIJ
Premium Photo Paper Semi-gloss - SP1400 1410 PSPP
Ultra Premium Photo Paper Glossy - SP1400 1410 UPGP
Ultra Premium Presentation Matte - SP1400 1410 UPPM

Since I purchased an Epson printer, Epson ink, and Epson paper I was determined I was going to use the Epson profiles for their paper products. I spent about 2 hours on the phone with Epson Help in the Philippines - to no avail. I called Adobe to only learn they no longer support Elements 6. I spent hours and hours on the internet, searching both Epson and Adobe Elements, trying to find a solution to my problem. I finally found an Epson user group on Yahoo and posted my problem. I received a response - applied the suggested fix and OMG, the problem is solved!

Along the way I came across a site containing a paper that helped me better understand "color management" and the relationship of color management related to the camera, the computer monitor/screen, the photo editing software (Adobe Elements), and the printer. The site is: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/colin_w/cm_part_1.htm

Along the way in my internet search, I read a number of posts from people using Elements 7 or 8 for whom the ICC profiles for their Epson printers would appear in the Elements 6 print screen but not in the Elements 7 or 8 print screen. Go tell ...... one of the mysteries of man that the profiles would load in their Elements 6 and not mine!

Anyhow, here is the fix:

My Epson driver profiles (the SP1400 1410 *** file names listed above) were loaded in:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\spool\drivers\color

I copied the eight files (mentioned above) to:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Color\Profiles\Recommended

and now I can select the specific paper profile for the type of Epson paper I'm using.

I hope this helps anyone having the same problem.

Replace A Letter

The idea here is to simply replace one letter of the word. The letters cannot be rearranged, and no letters can be added. The word must stay four letters. I'll do the first two so you can see what I mean in case I'm not explaining very well.
